The oldest house in Arlington County, the c.1760s Ball-Sellers House built by yeoman farmer John Ball is a rare example of the dwelling of the ordinary person during the 18th century. It features a rare surviving clapboard roof, as documented by noted architectural historian Dell Upton.
Open Saturdays, 1-4 p.m., April through October with special events scheduled during this time. There is no admission fee, but a donation is appreciated. You may also arrange a visit by calling 703-379-2123.
