Commemoration of 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812

Join the National Park Service at Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial for a special program commemorating the War of 1812, the Baltimore Riots, the death of General Lingan, and the maiming of General “Light-Horse Harry” Lee. Special talks will explore the history of these dramatic events and walking tours will visit the graves of War of 1812 notables buried at Arlington National Cemetery. The Fort McHenry Guard Fife and Drum Corps and United States Corps of Artillery will present demonstrations of music and musket and cannon firing. The program schedule will be posted on the Arlington House website: www.nps.gov/arho.

The program is free and appropriate for all ages. Arlington House is in the center of Arlington National Cemetery which is accessible by the Blue Line of the Metrorail. Reservations are not required but parking at Arlington House is only available with a reservation for the program. Email:
